Art Vannes crystal vase

295.00$
Description
Elegant slender flower vase in clear crystal, a rare piece signed in acid under the base. The origin of ART Vannes is in the village of Vannes-le-Chantel located in eastern France (precisely in the department of Lorraine). The history traces its roots to around 1765 under the patronage of the aristocracy. By 1960, more than 600 glassmakers resided in the area and produced artistic lead-based pieces in molds purchased from former manufacturers. Today, the largest glassmaking school in Europe (CERFAV) is located in the region. In addition, several French crystal companies (Baccarat, Daum and Portieux) are established in the region. It was around 1970 that ART Vannes ceased production and Cristal de Sèvres was born. Later they would produce under the Daum brand. As the ART Vannes FRANCE kilns only operated from 1950 to 1970, these magnificent pieces are considered an exceptional find. Apart from light scratches on the base, this vase is in excellent condition.
