Robert Reid (1862–1929) was a Canadian painter and muralist associated with Impressionism. Born in Ontario, he studied in Europe, particularly in Paris, where he was influenced by late 19th-century French artistic movements.
Reid is known for his delicate portraits, intimate scenes, and decorative compositions. He also created important murals, some for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. His style is characterized by an elegant treatment of female figures.
He holds an important place in Canadian art history for his contribution to the development of a more modern and international aesthetic at the turn of the 20th century.
