Sons of the Desert est une comédie américaine sortie durant l’âge d’or du cinéma hollywoodien et considérée comme l’un des meilleurs films de Stan Laurel et Oliver Hardy. Le film se moque des clubs fraternels masculins très populaires aux États-Unis dans les années 1920-1930, où les hommes se réunissaient pour des congrès, banquets et activités sociales.
Dans l’histoire, Stan et Ollie inventent un faux voyage médical pour pouvoir assister secrètement à une convention des “Sons of the Desert” à Chicago malgré l’opposition de leurs épouses. Leur mensonge dégénère lorsqu’un naufrage est annoncé dans les journaux, créant une série de situations absurdes et comiques typiques du duo.
