Description

Beautiful cut crystal glasses produced in Canada and sold by Birks around 1960. Available in port and champagne sizes, sold individually.

The pattern features clean, geometric lines in the American Brilliant Period style: criss-cross, central fan and star cut. This cutting work gives the crystal exceptional brilliance and depth.

A rare opportunity to own an object that embodies both the glass craftsmanship of the era and the history of a great Canadian house.

About Birks

Founded in Montreal in 1879 by Henry Birks, Birks, officially known as Henry Birks & Sons, established itself as the quintessential Canadian benchmark for tableware, crystal, silverware, and luxury jewelry. For over a century, its elegant boutiques graced the main streets of Canadian cities, from Montreal to Vancouver.

Around 1950, Birks selected and distributed high-quality cut crystal pieces, often produced to its own standards. These items were offered for special occasions — weddings, anniversaries, ceremonies — and represented the pinnacle of refined gifting in Canada. Now exclusively a jewelry store, Birks no longer sells these pieces, which gives its vintage glasses and coupes true collector's item status.
